Audio Player and Library
You can play an audio file (music or voice recording) into your conference using the Live Conference Dashboard. You first add the audio file into your Playlist by uploading the file from your device or selecting a previously-uploaded file from your Library. Any file in your Playlist can be played into the conference by pressing its Play button. Files remain in your Playlist until you remove them or log out from your dashboard.
Library
You can upload and manage a collection of audio files via the Library tab in the Account Dashboard. The Library can also be used to upload recordings for use with Dial-in Recording Playback.
Click on the Upload Audio File button to add a recording to your Library. You can browse your device to select the audio file, with an option to assign a name for display in your Library.
To add a file to your Playlist, click on the icon in the left column. You can add multiple files to your Playlist.
Play In Conference
The Playlist is displayed at the top of the Live Conference Dashboard. You can add a recording to the Playlist directly from this dashboard by clicking on the Playlist icon . You can select a recording previously saved in the Library or upload a new file from your device. (You do not need to save uploaded files to your Library.)
When you click on the Play button to start playing the recording, the conference changes into Broadcast Mode, which mutes all participants, suppresses entry and exit alerts, and mutes any other announcements that might normally play. (Exception: If the conference is in “Hosts Only” Conference Mode, only the hosts will hear the broadcast, while non-hosts continue to listen to the hold music. This allows the hosts to preview the recording prior to starting the general conference.) To adjust the volume, click on the Speaker icon to display the volume slider in the Playing row.
Please Note...
- No Start Offset. While you can pause/resume and stop the recording broadcast while it is playing, there is no option to start the playback at a specific point in the recording – the broadcast always starts at the beginning of the selected recording.
- No Sequential Auto-Play or Loop. Broadcast ends when the playback of each active recording is complete, and the conference will revert to the prior conference mode. The next listed recording in the Playlist will NOT automatically start playing after the current playback ends; to start playing the next item, you must click its Play icon. (This is unlike playlists with streaming music services.)
- Pausing the Broadcast. Clicking the Pause icon will revert the conference to its prior mode, so that participants can speak. Clicking the play icon re-starts the playback at the previous pause position, returning the conference to Broadcast mode.
- Guest Host Broadcasting. While Guest Hosts do not have access to the Library tab, they can still select files from the Library and add them to the Playlist by clicking on the Playlist icon .
